Simple Beauty

The Simple Beauty portion of this blog will mainly be focused on my Beautycounter business but I will also include other beauty tips, products and tutorials.

I have struggled with my skin for as long as I can remember. I have tried countless prescriptions, topical medicines and face washes. Some work for a short period of time and some never work at all. I can also usually blame it on stress, sweat, hormones or something else. Most recently I have struggled with my skin due to pregnancy and postpartum hormones.

In February of this year we found out that we were pregnant with our second baby! We were so excited and couldn’t wait to meet our child come November. Well…all of that excitement was washed away on Tuesday, March 27th. I had been spotting all weekend and went to the doctor on Tuesday to be told that we would not be meeting our baby until we get to heaven. I was scheduled for a D&C that Wednesday and then started my journey through the grief of a miscarriage. It was NOT easy and I would NOT wish it upon anyone! I have wonderful friends and family who carried through a very dark time (you guys know who you are and I LOVE YOU). I also believe in an AMAZING Father who heals the broken and has great plans for that child. I will write another post about this soon and share with you some things that helped me through that season in case this is your story!

Mother’s Day soon followed my miscarriage. Alden asked me what I wanted and the only thing I kept coming up with was…to be pregnant with my baby. But I knew this wasn’t possible. I decided that I wanted to make a change to make my body the best body that it could be in order to carry the next baby that God decided to give me. This is where Beautycounter comes in. Everyday I wash my face, use different face products and apply make up. Before Beautycounter I had NO IDEA what ingredients were used in my products nor did I know what these ingredients could do to my body. My decision was easy, my decision was quick…this was a tangible change that I could make to help my body be the best it could be. I had figured out what I wanted for Mother’s Day and it was Beautycounter products to try.

The months went by and I tried more and more products and actually started seeing results. My skin was clearing up and I was having fewer and fewer breakouts. I also had a positive pregnancy test on June 11th! I am now 28 weeks pregnant with a little girl, Brooke Rebecca, and also selling the products that I love.

I do NOT want you to ever feel pressure from me to use or buy Beautycounter products. I just want to share with you the products that I love and that are safe for me and my family.

So….this is my why! I have had multiple people ask me why I made the switch or why I want to sell it and this is it! I will be sharing more about Beautycounter with you soon but in the meantime if you want to check it out or shop here is my website: www.beautycounter.com/sarahharris
