Simple Christmas Treats

Are your friends and neighbors all dropping little treats and goodies off on your front porch? Do you have nothing to give in return? Do not fret…I have a  quick and SIMPLE idea for you that you can whip up relatively fast!

PUPPY CHOW!! Who doesn’t love puppy chow? Or as Chex calls it…Muddy Buddies! Here is the SIMPLE SIMPLE SIMPLE recipe that is always a crowd pleaser! (I have also included the recipe below…please note this is directly from the back of the Rice Chex box and is not an original)

  • 9 cups Rice Chex™
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Into large bowl, measure cereal; set aside.

In 1-quart microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter uncovered on High 1 minute; stir. Microwave about 30 seconds longer or until mixture can be stirred smooth. Stir in vanilla. Pour mixture over cereal, stirring until evenly coated. Pour into 2-gallon resealable food-storage plastic bag.

Add powdered sugar. Seal bag; shake until well coated. Spread on waxed paper to cool. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.

I bought these cute holiday take out boxes from Target and filled them with our puppy chow! (Similar boxes can be ordered off Amazon here) When Cliff wakes up from his nap we are going out with our wagon and delivering all of our treats!
